Do you knit, weave, sew, crochet, felt, or enjoy some other fiber craft/art? Is there a dye you’ve produced? Or do you spin your own yarn? If so, please enter our 2021 Farm-to-Fashion Challenge featuring materials grown within our Heartland Threads Fibershed region. Experienced professionals and beginners alike are welcome to participate.
Entries (as many as you want) must be primarily created from materials sourced within our local fibershed although exceptions are accepted when local materials are not available. By using materials produced within our fibershed, you will be supporting local growers, local communities & local culture.
- Clothing items or complete outfits: socks, hats, coats, vests, etc
- Jewelry and scarves
- Woven fabric
- Leather goods

Entries will be accepted from December 1, 2021 – January 1, 2022; please check back here for an entry form at that time. On the form, you will be asked for a description of material sources and processes used. Entries will be posted online in our Farm-to-Fashion Showcase in April 2022. Each participant will be entered in a drawing for one of our prizes, including a 2022 Heartland Threads membership and a beautiful alpaca fleece. Board members not eligible for prizes.
